Message from Pastor Scott Moore re: Meeting in the church 7/25/20

Lawyer Talk

In this current climate, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any place where people gather. COVID-19 is caused by a virus and can spread from person to person. Its symptoms range from mild to severe illness or even death. While everyone is at risk of contracting this illness, the CDC has advised that there is special, higher risk for older adults and people of any age who have underlying medical conditions.

By entering this church, you acknowledge that you are aware of these risks, and that you personally and voluntarily assume any and all risk of exposure to, or any illness from, the COVID-19 virus.

Dear Church Family,

I pray that this message finds you all in good health.

As many of you know, the Lady Lake SDA Church will be returning to inside worship services this Sabbath July 25th.  Our Worship Service will begin at 11:00 am (doors open at 10:30 am). Sabbath School will resume on August 1, 2020 at 10:00 am. We will still be streaming everything online via the church website and Facebook Live (see below).

In order to encourage as many people as possible to attend, we are implementing the Florida Conference’s social distancing measures to promote the health and wellness of our church family. We ask that you wear a mask and bring hand sanitizer from home (if you do not have these items, we have them available for you).

The Florida Conference Revised Guidelines require our wearing a mask, so please come prepared for this.

Our new Head Deacon, Ralph Polk, will also be setting up a television outside under the porch for those who would like to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the service outside, socially distanced, and without a mask.

We will be seating you as you come into the church. Our Elder's recommended procedure is to seat you from the front of the church to the back of the church.  This may mean that the “normal” spot you sit in will be waiting for you when Phase 3 of the State’s Guidelines has been implemented. Until then, we are simply excited to be able to worship together in the air-conditioning.

After service is over, we will be dismissing from the back of the church to the front. Our “after church mingling" will be outside under the shade of the covered walk and drive-thru porch. We encourage mingling outside so long as each party has communicated that they feel comfortable doing so.

If you are comfortable worshiping together under these circumstances––please come and bring a friend! However, if you have a temperature, if you are feeling sick, or if you have an underlying immunodeficiency, we ask that you stay home and join us as soon as you are well again.

We will be streaming online at our website and on our Facebook Page, Lady Lake SDA Church.

While this transition is somewhat cumbersome, I am elated to bear the temporary safety measures if it means that we can worship together.

We are praying for you and are looking forward to seeing you this Sabbath!
